Healing Concert Kobe 10th July 2010

Healing Concert – Kobe 10th July 2010

Brian and I had the immense honour and privilege to perform with some amazing musicians at a ‘sold out’ event recently.

The tickets went on sale in March and 1100 tickets sold out within a week!!! WOW!

The wonderful Ozaki Satomi and Shimabukuro Kouji organised this amazing concert and brought us all together. They looked after us so well...........we stayed at the

Crowne Plaza Hotel on the 27th floor overlooking the Kobe Mountains and ropeway with a perfect view of our old apartment (we waved to Jack too!)

We met our fellow musicians 2 days before the concert and had so much fun just jamming and playing together............’Jun’ who owns over 100 crystal bowls brought along 48 of his collection of all different sizes and colours........quartz crystal, amethyst, obsidian and all sounding so unique and beautiful. ‘Lisa’ a most elegant and graceful dancer who is a famous Japanese Bollywood Movie star! was divine and we were so in appreciation of her as we sang to her movements.............nothing was planned and every rehearsal was different as we improvised and just got to know each other better musically, such a joy! ‘Kazaoto’ played beautiful traditional Japanese bells and also played hand made pottery wind instruments and flutes. ‘Tsuyoshi’ a fabulous percussionist from Osaka was the musical director and created a wonderful nurturing space for us to play and be together. Brian and I joined them with our voices and also had fun singing our own songs and performing body percussion with the audience and teaching them an African song................amazing hearing over 1000 people singing Thuma Mina in 3 part harmony and they sounded wonderful!!!

The concert also included each musician soloing in their own unique style culminating in a lead meditation by Satomisan. The concert was a resounding success and we felt like movie stars as we were hugged and hugged by lines and lines of people wanting to meet us afterwards.

We had a celebration dinner in a local Kobe restaurant and bathed in the glow of giving to so many people and feeling very blessed and in gratitude for being part of such a wonderful experience................so successful was this concert that all the musicians are already booked to do it again next year!!!!!

We felt like a family and there were tears when we had to say goodbye and head to our respective homes as we all came together from all over Japan.

Thank you everyone for your support and contribution and to Mugen Life and the Harmony Planet Team for their tireless energy working to make it such as successful concert...........They were promoting our next concert ‘Waraku’ which will is held on November 3rd every year and is included in our Japan Singing Tour.........fully booked for this year and our Aussie singers are going to have an amazing time singing with the Japan New World Rhythm Choir! YAY!!

Brian and I will be heading back to Australia on the 22nd of July to join our Aussie New World Rhythm choir and we are looking forward to singing with them again soon!

Love and till next time................Noeline
